| PrideAlliance
is a new initiative aimed at giving Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Takatapui and
Transgender activists a voice within the Alliance and the NZ Government.
The network is still in its early stages, and the exact nature of the organisation will only become known over time, and as member participation increases. However, it is hoped that PrideAlliance will be a progressive and proactive part of the Alliance. Defense of human rights will probably be a key area of action. The Alliance?Labour Government has taken care of a number of issues in this area, but its important that the role of the Labour Party is not overstated at the expense of the Alliance. Alliance Leader Laila Harre has a strong background in the Human Rights area, and has been a staunch defender of gay, lesbian and transgender issues in her roles as Minister of Women's Affairs and Minister of Youth Affairs. The Alliance has a solid record of supporting your community. The Alliance...as part of the Government...and as a proven supporter of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender rights holds a key role in issues of sexuality.
